When I heard about the Strand photo contest I took my camera and went into the store. I spend about 2 hours taking over a 150 pictures. Before i even started I knew that what I wanted to shoot, more then anything else, is someone being so absorbed in reading they forget where they are and what's going on outside of the book, this is my strongest experience from book stores.

I spotted this girl from across the room and walked slowly and quietly, not wanting to disturb her reading, this was as close as I dared to go, but I'm sure that even if I jumped in front of her she wouldn't notice, she was so into her book.
