Note from the Artist
From the mid-level landing of the stairs inside Strand, between the ground floor and the second floor, I was struck at how the hanging overhead fluorescent lamps divinely illuminated the books and people below. Being new to New York, with everything fresh and new to my eyes, it was one of those moments that made me pause with awe and wonder. I didn't have my "professional" camera with me at that time, and I only had my iPhone's camera. But I didn't want to lose my epiphany of that moment, and so, I snapped away. This is my most significant visual memories of Strand. And perhaps, of New York City.
